Sometimes. it is all in the “luck of the draw” how the day will turn out around here. All 3 kids have been under the weather the past few days. Particularly one of them. The days are somewhat good & manageable but the nights, have been oh.so.bad. I know many can relate to sleeping in a queen size bed with 3 kids in bed with you, a dog at the foot of the bed, & your husband is at work so he can bring home the bacon. I believe I can handle many things that are thrown my way, but doing the “night shift” alone with sick kids is not my fave. BUT…on the rare lucky days & nights when Chief is home the care & comfort for all of us is a welcomed feeling.

He takes the diaper duty, breathing treatment routines, the kleenex patrol, the bathing/bathroom shifts so I can sit, watch the snow fall & have some coconut hot chocolate.
He’ll take over the meals & even put stickers on our eggs & cupcakes.
And, most importantly he’ll entertain the kids so I can take a nap – ALONE. Without the kids. So the sleep walk going down the hall at 2 am will not be so hard the next “night shift alone.” I am a lucky girl. I say all this, because the last 2 days have been almost perfect. Well, as perfect as a home can be with sick kids. There has been enough care & comfort evenly distributed. I always worry about that. Who gets what first, who gets picked up first, who gets rocked to sleep more or held more. But luckily for me & for them all our needs & wants have been taken care of, Thanks to the Chief!
On somewhat of another note, I have thought of this post all day today. The title, her words, the story behind the making of the banner – it all inspired me. She, Cha Cha is a new blog friend of mine. {Not to be confused with my other friend, Cha Cha. Now I have two Cha Cha friends.} We have already planned to meet in real life when the weather gets a little warmer. And, thanks to her I felt HIS BANNER OVER ME all day. Click here to read her post & to see more of this beautiful banner.
Cha Cha, I think you are the one of the sweetest people I have yet to meet. 🙂 I cannot thank you enough for this sweet post & the story behind it.
