There were plenty of smiles during lunch today.
I didn’t feel guilty serving this one, since I layered in yogurt (raspberry) in-between the biscuits.
Sometimes it nice to take a break from the constant picky eater battle. I’m a big believer in taking these breaks every now & then. But since we are on a berry extravaganza, as I’m calling it, I thought this would be a fun diversion from our norm. My shortcakes are regular biscuits, btw. About a mile from the house we can pick up a warm batch of biscuits for $2.99. Which is cheaper then the frozen bag at the grocery store! So no extra sugar was added other then the whipping cream.
It is suppose to pour down rain AGAIN tomorrow. I always feel more outnumbered when it rains. Taking the kids to the popular “indoor” activities around town tomorrow doesn’t sound too appealing to me since everyone will be doing the same thing on a holiday. So who knows what we’ll come up with tomorrow for our berry fest.
Meanwhile….

the above is hopefully what will take place after the rain. Chief is suppose to bale hay this week. So either I’ll go nuts during this week while he is away or we will eat our weight in berries & shortcake just to keep all happy. Me included. 😉
