*check out the gourd! crafted & painted by my 4 y.o. perfect for this Fall loving mama!*
Cozy, soft, natural & fun is what I want my house to say, especially around Fall.
I’ve started adding more layers this week. So far so good with my 3 little ones. We’ll see how long it will last.
My most recent thrift finds. A pear shape wooden bowl & wash basin water pitcher. Wooden bowl $3.00 & water pitcher $5.99. I love the hunting scene layered into the porcelain. Flowers from my neighbor’s yard.
I’ve layered more into the mantel. A skeleton vase, books & some vases filled with glittered pumpkins. To be honest, I don’t know if I like it as much as I did from last week when I first debuted my Hitchcock-esque mantel. What do you all think…to my regular readers? I know it was simple before, but I love simple some of the time.
For some reason I think it looks too busy, but I’ll let you all decide.
Some of you may remember these from last year. I *heart* our staircase. Only a few pumpkins have bite marks from last year left by the twins, so I gladly put them up again! I must say, all of it still makes me smile! You can read how I made the pumpkins last year, by clicking here. Of course, I had to bring the mice back again. Thanks, Martha for bring them back again this year. 😉
Love this happy & fun area in our home. It is perfect to me & for the kids.
Layering always makes an outfit & always makes a home to me. I have eliminated layering for far too long in this home & it’s time to see more introduced. *Fingers crossed* the twins agree on my thought process.
Isn’t Fall the best for adding layers of color as well?
Oh, how I love this season!
P.S.
The pumpkins after Halloween are turned around to spell Thankful. It’s a two for one holiday decor & I simply love both looks. Check out last year’s post. It was easy!

I’m loving your pumpkins with the letters on them. What a awesome idea to make them duel purpose with “Halloween” and “Thankful”. Think I might have to put that in my bag of tricks.
Everything looks lovely.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs!

love that backwards and forwards pumpkin! we have a little bump out on our bottom few stairs, and i might have to do something like this. what’s a small word that could last thru fall? i guess fall. but the word fall, on stairs? maybe not so good!

Hi! I’m stopping by from the Hooked on Houses party. I like the simplier Hitchcock-esque mantel better but they both look great! The pumpkins on the staircase are so clever and cute!!

Please settle a disagreement. My husband says your chalkboard wall is brown, I think it’s black. We are thinking of doing something similar and can’t agree on colors. Thanks so much!

I am really taken with your stairway pumpkin project! I started a new Random Goodness Tuesdays on my craft/review blog. Your project was the first item featured!
Now I need to be on the lookout for clearance craft pumpkins to store in my storage shed for future projects! My stairway may not be done by next Fall, but this project is definitely going in my Someday Projects List!
