I guess you all are beginning to get the drift that I love Halloween – right?
I couldn’t resist busting out my silhouette machine to play copycat with some Halloween crows & ravens for my breakfast room.
You see, I fell head over heels in love with Country Living’s spread of bird crafts {see below.} Although, I don’t have those cool granny chic type of plates, (and of course the spread of food & the buffet) I knew my colorful plates would look just as cool with a black silhouette on each one.
So I downloaded some images using my silhouette machine & presto it was done in like 15 minutes.
I’m all about fast & easy projects these days + I’m a sucker for any kind of Halloween silhouette image. It’s always love at first sight when I see vintage Halloween meets silhouettes. Love that combo.
In case any of you silhouette machine owners are reading this & were curious, I used the following images:
blackbird
black crow-s- (there’s 2 different styles)
one image from birds in flight
blue bird
pink bird
If you don’t have a silhouette machine, but have a steady hand – Country Living has all their birds available for a stencil template download.

Ever see the Hitchcock move The Birds? Creepy and these plates definitely remind me of it…perfect for Halloween!
I love that it is assymetrical, it is a fun halloween decoration without being too over the top! Found you at TT&J!
