My inspiration for creating these Red Velvet pancakes came from my friend Steve from college. He’s always eating at some fabulous bistro or soaking in the sunset on the Pacific coast. And I, get to just look at his pics via FB or Instagram & dream of living back in California.
*this is a re-post*
Because all the kiddos from everywhere will be out of school next week, I’ve already started thinking of fun stuff to make & do for the week leading up to Christmas. I know for sure these red velvet pancakes will be on the menu. We are a house of pancakes.
Red Velvet Pancakes
1 1/2 – 3/4 cups of Red Velvet Cake Mix
1 egg
3/4 – 1 cup of Milk
Cream Cheese Home Style Frosting
{Butter Pam for your skillet}
***note you may need to thicken it more with the cake mix, depending on how thick you like your pancakes.***
whisk together:
Using your choice of skillet, spray Butter Pam & dollop the average amount of pancake batter, like you normally do, heat & flip.
*Note to self~ don’t ever use a plastic cookie cutter on a hot skillet. Dumb, Kellie – really dumb.*
But in the end, they turned out fabulous, of course adding a dollop or two or three of cream cheese frosting makes a perfect pairing with the Red Velvet Pancakes.
Has anyone else heard of Red Velvet Pancakes?
We love them. But I love anything with cream cheese. It’s my guilty pleasure.
