Is the anticipation starting to build?
Are your eyes searching for the first signs of flower buds on your trees?
Are you pulling up to your house & checking out the grass to see if it got any greener while you were away?
Are you thinking of warmer days filled with pastel colored m&ms?
Are you starting to think about painting your toes pink?
Well, I can guarantee I sure am. Spring can’t come soon enough in my opinion! One of my very favorite ways to bring an early Spring inside is to force branches to bloom.
You can look through any shelter magazine right now (while you’re dreaming of Spring decor) and see several pictures of blooming branches on display. There’s no question, the look of branches blooming inside is just gorgeous! These pictures are from the past 3 years in my house. I have used them for our mantel displays, party decor or a table top display. The choices are unlimited.
I take a pair of pruning scissors & cut branches on a 45* angle & group them in warm water in large vases. Try to pick branches that already have buds forming & have several buds on the branch. The trick to cutting them really early is to refresh the water everyday, and make the water temperature warm. The branches will start to bud out & bloom in no time.
