Kitchen Dump Soup
Now, doesn’t that sound appetizing?
I could make a lot of jokes with this title, but I’ll try to refrain. 😉
This is a single girl’s soup on a budget recipe turned into a Mama of 3 staple when she wants to clean out her pantry & {ahem} do a slight cleanse for herself.
Boy, this gets better & better sounding, doesn’t it? 😉
Let me back up just a tad for a little history. Yes, I invented this recipe. If I dare say that??? Because it is truly your basic recipe for any soup.
A protein or two
broth
onion/garlic/seasoning
a carb
tons of veggies
Back when I was a single girl, I was always, everyday on a budget. I love all things soup. You can never go wrong with soup. There was also a time in my life leading up to gallbladder surgery that I also needed all things fiber related or cleanse related.
I dare not call this a “Cleanse Soup” because I know the cleanse patrol people will come after me. But I know I can be honest here, and lay it all out on the table….
this soup will taste good, but also serve as a really strong fiber bearing food resource.
How ’bout that for a description?
Another words, don’t head out the door for a GNO, after eating this soup.
😉
I add a ton of veggies. Always spinach, usually tomatoes, corn, leaf parsley, chopped onion, I recently added kale and a time or two I’ve added cabbage.
As for your protein:
it can be anything you like. Again, originating from a single girl’s pantry/fride usually a pound or a pound & a half of protein. So ground turkey, hamburger meat, chicken, Italian sausage – you name it.
Seasoning:
1 chopped onion, minced garlic, depending on what I had in my pantry to use, I would add a tablespoon of dried Italian seasoning & anything else I thought would blend well with what I had. I don’t really have measurements to share. This is a kind of soup you add things to until it tastes good to you.
For broth:
2 cans of chicken stock, but recently I’ve added Knorr Homestyle stock & again depending on what you had on hand, 1-3 cups of water.
For your carb:
I have only used a small amount of rice or pasta. Sometimes, I even opted out of adding a carb.
Last but not least:
add in fresh lemon juice (1-2 fresh lemons)
at times, I’ve added 2-4 tablespoons of Italian bread crumbs for extra flavor.
And there you have it. It’s been my go to recipe for years for many reasons. 😉
Dare I say that I’m actually linking this up to Tidy Mom’s Soupalooza Party???
Goodness Gracious – all those tasty, gorgeous, yummy recipes over there at her party & yep, here I come with a cleanse-like recipe. 😉 What am I thinking?
In all honestly, Tidy Mom had her first Soup Party last year. It has been one of my most favorite link parties to refer back to because of all the yummy recipes. So make sure you bookmark/pin her party – you will not be sorry! It’s full of amazing soup inspirations + fabulous prizes!!!

I am a total soup person too! I make a lot of dump soups but they usually turn out into a tortilla spicey mexicany blend. My absolute favorite!

I love soups. You just can’t go wrong with them. I made a thick taco soup the other night and it was funny because as I was putting all the ingredients in I thought to myself how it seemed like I was just ‘dumping’ random ingredients into the pot.

Yum!! Soup is a go-to here. Have you ever tried adding barley in lieu of the rice or pasta? It is so healthy, and so tasty! One of our favorites is barley, kale, tomato, carrots and crimini mushrooms. Even without meat, it tastes so rich!

I love making soup out of all the leftovers, I mean goodies :), in my kitchen. I’ve never had a name for these concoctions, but i might have to borrow yours. Plus, it’s a good conversation starter when you have guests over for dinner, right?
Thanks for sharing!
