Well, Hello October.
Goodness, it’s so good to see you.
The kids & I had the best time this weekend. We brought up the famous “orange” storage boxes that holds all our treasured ghosts, spiders, birds & pumpkins. We all seem to treat those orange boxes like they are truly long lost buried treasure. They know exactly what it means when those boxes come up from the basement & immediately the talk begins of “What they’re gonna be for Halloween.” Their love for Halloween is truly hereditary.
Thanks to the Dollar Tree, this mantel has a centerpiece with all the appropriate Halloween-ish creepy crawly creatures. Yep, the birds, spiders & web all came from there. Everything else I had on hand, other than the tassel garland. I thought the mantel needed a little pop of shimmer & color so I gave the shiny garland a try. Not really sure how long it will last because I have two 4 year olds that are very attractive to shiny sparkly objects (that’s hereditary as well.) Needless to say, I had Mylar strings everywhere in the house this weekend, but I also had very excited kids with Halloween imaginations running wild. My favorite way to spend the weekend.
With October’s arrival knocking at our door over the weekend & the Harvest Moon shining, I looked online for a poem or something(???) to read to the kids on Saturday night. I found this one below by Pearl N. Sorrels. It’s a good one! It made for the perfect bedtime poem that I’m sure will be read quite often this month:
Happy October, everyone!
Have a super week!

(You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.
I love the black and white decorating theme, very classy!
