99.9% of the time I am scrabbling at the last minute getting everything ready for our assigned snack day at school.
It’s a good thing, I happen to work well under pressure. I learned from the best – my mom. So, it’s basically hopeless for me because it’s in my genes to be last minute.
Anyways…
I realize not all schools do this, but my kids happen to attend a school that has assigned snack days. On top of that, the snacks have to be healthy snacks (which I am very grateful for) but it’s hard to be creative with a limited “approved” snack list.
And I happen to like being creative…and I think the kids like it too!
So back in February, I saw this idea and totally used it for our snack day(s) x’s 3 during the month of February. It was pure genius! And to be honest, I am only taking off on her genius idea for this post. I had put the idea of using the PEAR applesauce for St. Patrick’s Day in the back of my mind, because naturally it was green!
So…here is the printable for March…
Because green (pear) applesauce will give you Lucky Awesome Sauce Power!!! It will make you strong & of course make you extra awesome! I can’t help now but associate the “Everything is Awesome” song from the Lego movie now, when I say Awesome Sauce! haha!
The other cool thing about this, is it can be used for either a boy or a girl…but it kinda has more of a boy theme. Which is a win in my book. Boy stuff or themes often get left out when it comes to being creative.
The nice thing about Mott’s is that they also have the Box Tops – which is a double win if you’re school is collecting those. As Della pointed out in her post – she printed her Vday printables on colored paper & only used black ink. Again – pure genius. I happened to do both for our printables. I used white cardstock & some green that I had. Either way is fine & you can attach them with either regular scotch tape or washi tape to the awesome (apple) sauce. You also will need a 3 inch punch or round cutter, or trace & cut each by hand. You can always refer to her post to see how she recommends cutting them.
So…not only am I one step ahead of snack day for this week, but I also am scoring points with my oldest son for this snack idea!!!
