Don’t hate me.
But you know how sometimes, you work so hard and you feel like you’ve burned off enough calories to enjoy a delicious treat?
Without regretting it?
Yeah, me neither. 😉
Seriously though, we’ve been working hard. And eating. And buying wood. And drinking coffee. And eating.
So I had this idea to make us a fun treat. Because good homemade meals & treats are hard to come by these days.
I combined my husband’s and my favorites all into one amazing brownie dessert!
Coffee Toffee Bacon Brownies!
When life gets busy there’s nothing like being able to throw together something that’s easy. But when you can mix “convenience” with some semi-homemade it becomes even better. Especially when it comes to chocolate…and coffee…and bacon!
Eat it alone or with your favorite vanilla ice cream. All I know is that you’ll want to kick me, because it’s so darn gooooood!
Brewing strong coffee with a Keurig in the smallest cup setting, really steps this brownie mix up a notch! The coffee will pull out all the flavors of the chocolate along with the bacon. Perfection.
Ingredients
- Box of brownie mix
- Strong Coffee (I used a K-cup & brewed it on the smallest cup setting)
- 3 pieces of fried bacon. Reserve a few pieces for toppings.
- Toffee toppings (such as Health crunch topping)
- Hershey topping
- 1/4 cup Sweet condensed milk *if desired
- Chocolate chips *if desired
Instructions
- Grab your favorite brownie mix, and heat the oven to specified amount. usually 350
- Fry your pieces of bacon, and chop up. Set aside.
- Add everything on the back of the brownie mix, except for when it calls for water, that's when you'll add your strong coffee. I added 1/4 cup of brewed coffee from our Keurig.
- Throw in your chopped bacon into the brownie mix, and mix everything together.
- Pour it into either a small baking dish or cast iron and bake per suggested time on the back of the box.
- Once slightly cooled but warm to the touch, add your Health Toffee Toppings, Chocolate chips if desired, Hershey syrup, 1/4 cup of drizzled Sweetend Condensed Milk and Bacon topping.
- Serve immediately either by itself or with your favorite vanilla ice cream.
I truly believe it’s the coffee in this recipe that makes everything taste so good. OF course the bacon helps as well.
And a large hot cup of coffee will help it go down as well.
P.S. I know I’ve said this in the past – but when it comes to cooking & baking I love to cook & bake in a cast iron skillet. I used to hate it. But I truly believe everything tastes better out of a cast iron. If you don’t have one, here’s my affiliate link to Amazon and a link to a cast iron skillet set for $25! Trust me when I say, everything tastes better cooked in a cast iron!
