Somewhere along the way, I’ve found my true happy place.
It’s right in the middle of where a craft project meets up with a recipe, and they become one fun project.
That’s where this DIY Cake Topper comes in, along with one of my husband’s favorite cakes. You see, it was his birthday about a week ago. He happens to like berries and chocolate together.

As for the cake, it’s a cake mix. But I always swap for some strong brewed coffee in the place of the water when I’m making a chocolate cake. Coffee will always pull more flavor out of chocolate. And I happen to love the combination of the two. Even in cakes!

I love how it all made a big statement. This cake looks like it took a lot of time, but it really didn’t. Everything was super easy and pretty inexpensive. The cake topper was around $2 dollars and it was put together within minutes!
It’s the perfect DIY Cake Topper for weddings, Valentine’s or birthdays!
