Valentines Gallery Wall

I couldn’t help myself.

Blush, Bashful & Gold are my signature colors, especially in this “PINK” season we’re in.

I just had to get some in my home decor!  Since I had recently decorated my mantel in a Winter Bliss theme, I thought it would be fun to make a Valentines Gallery Wall full of my signature colors.

We have many blank walls in our new home.  In fact, I really haven’t done much to decorate them at all.  Because we have been busy DIYing & remodeling as much as we can.  But I had this idea to have a printable made of John Legend’s song, All of Me.  I love that song so much.

It’s a sexy song ~ if that’s okay to say?  I usually hate that word, but really it’s the best word to describe the song.  So the more I got to thinking about it, I felt the song lyrics in the printable needed to be on a fun, eclectic wall.  So I wanted to do something really fun but bold.

The wall is a perfect combination of pink, gold and black.  I thought it would be fun to add a touch of sparkle to it as well.  So I cut a heart from a 12×12 gold glitter scrapbook paper and layered it with a sheet of pink.  I just free hand traced the heart on one side & folded it over to cut it.

Once again I have Stephanie Lynn to thank for the John Legend song printable.   She is my “Printable Whisperer” she can do just about anything you ask!  I love working with her.  She also does invitations, custom printables, and resumes based out of her etsy shop, Designs by Spec.  So if you are in need of anything, check out her shop or send her a message!  I don’t think “No” is in her vocabulary, so she will give anything a try.

Once I had the printable, I started collecting & pinning some things that I thought would coordinate well with the printable.  I originally thought not to use anything else with a text, because I didn’t want it to interfere with the printable.   But then I saw the Love printable from Kimberly’s blog, I knew it would work with the whole look I was going for.   I love the simplicity of it + the gold + it’s FREE!

I purchased a gold frame from the Dollar Tree and the rest I had on hand.

I have a deep love for watercolor art!  So I was able to find this watercolor heart online as well.  It too, is also free to download.  I used my old printer and used cardstock and it printed beautifully.

 

I think the watercolor heart pulls it all together.

It’s all totally random, but it’s so fun and brings a nice pop to our boring walls.  Especially on gray days.

You can see below where I still need to paint some of our baseboards.  (Warning:  Type A people look away.  😉 )  I do believe we will always be a DIY home in progress over here.  But I like to consider that a good thing.   Because real life happens here.   Where we do our best to celebrate any season or any holiday (because you all know I can’t miss a holiday or a reason to celebrate) in between going to school and work and trying to pay the bills = real life.
