B A L A N C E. The struggle is real, my friends!
Some of you may have the balancing act or should I say the juggling act down pat. But truth be told I do not.
Balancing media time and creative time is a challenge in my house, but as parents we’ve set some standards that have to be met in order for any play time to take place. Luckily for us, our kids enjoy creative free play as well as media play time, but media time is by far the favorite for our boys.
Of course it totally helps that the HORIZON 2s comes with more than 60 preloaded apps, including multiplayer games and educational apps such as Air Hockey, Tycoon, Air Supremacy, Chubby Kings, Media Puzzle, Chess, Tarzan and many more. The Horizon 2 multiplayer capabilities truly makes my boys clean their room.
For real!
Remember how I mentioned above that we have standards that our kids have to do everyday before they may have playtime? Well, some of those standards are for them to pick up toys, clean their rooms, and make their beds. All I ask is that their best effort is given in every standard. We also want them to read & have creative time everyday. That can even be on the Horizon 2 if they want to read along with a book online or find a character to draw from looking it up online.
The 19.5 inch screen is a great size if they want to watch their favorite movie, interact with games, or Skype with cousins in other states. It can be moved from room to room because its a tablet and a PC all in one.
Bedtimes vary at our house during the Summer. I know….
All you parents that follow a strict bedtime routine are shuttering. 😉
But if the boys want to watch a movie in bed or make a tent in the living room – they now have the option to watch it where ever they want with the Horizon 2!
Another huge perk about the Horizon 2 is that when school & homework start back up, we’ll be ready! The kids can take it from room to room, or even bring it in the kitchen while I’m making dinner if they need help.
Convenience, size & portability are huge benefits to me as a mom of 3 young kids.
Balancing media time and creative time is also very important to me as a mom. With the genius design from Intel and the multimedia player options, balancing and or limiting play (let’s be honest, right?) is also much easier. Because we all have those days when we need to run errands or have to be firm with the kiddos and restrict or ground them because someone was pulling their sister’s hair, right?
