I’m a salty & sweet kind of snacker.
My kids are the exact same way.
I know, not the best example I’m giving my kids.
But calories don’t count around the holidays…or at least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😉
I had this idea pop into my head around the middle of the year. My kids love Bugles Chips. And to me they can look like little whimsical Christmas trees. Think Dr. Seuss in Whoville with little Cindy Loo Who.
Are you with me?
So, I made a batch of these Christmas trees snacks while we watched…you guessed it, How the Grinch stole Christmas.
I can just picture the little Whos singing their songs around the Christmas Tree Snacks.
I know, some of you may think I have lost my mind (which maybe, I have). But I happen to love anything with a theme, or anything seasonal.
I am a seasonal junkie.
And sugar junkie.
I’m sure most of you have used chocolate melting chips by now. You can find them at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s – basically everywhere. They’re so easy. I typically melt mine in a large glass measuring cup. Use a skewer stick to pick up the trees once you’ve dipped them in your melted chocolate. The nice thing about the Bugles is that they have an opening on the inside, so a skewer stick works perfectly!
My other tip, is to line a large baking sheet with wax paper. I used 2 baking sheets, and the cleanup was a breeze since I used wax paper. All my sprinkles fell on the paper & the drizzle from the melting chocolate. So I simply threw the paper away once I was done. Easy.
I found all the fun paper products at Hobby Lobby. The little red & white polka dot trays worked perfectly for my kids. And of course, would work for a school, church or birthday party as well.
