Sometimes you have to go through a creative hiatus – just to get your mojo back. Truth be told, I’ve been on a creative hiatus for far too long. But when it just isn’t there, it’s hard to force it. But you guys, my mojo returned (at least for this project) and I’m so excited to share this wooden ball hoop wreath with y’all.
I’ve been craving texture in our home. Lightweight, breezy kind of textures for the Summer. I want it to be cozy, soft & airy, and while in thrift or regular stores this is all I have on my mind while looking around. Once my creative mojo starting coming back, I started thinking about creating this Wooden Ball Hoop Wreath. Which I believe, fits my texture home decor cravings perfectly.
Here’s what you’ll need for supplies:
- Metal Hoop Wreath
- Split Wooden Balls
- Florals//Succulents//Eucalyptus
- Twine
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Wire Cutter
Edited to add: Here’s another source for the Split Wooden Balls.

Let’s pause right here and talk about this wooden half balls. Aren’t they perfect for craft making? And don’t they add so much texture to the wreath hoop? The hot glue worked perfectly on them while attaching them to the metal wreath hoop. Within seconds they stayed in place, and have a very secure hold.
My other trick, I thought I would point out while creating any type of craft that you need wire cutters for, is this grip mat. It really helps your grip, and not pinching your hand while cutting the wire.
Most of my florals came from Michael’s or Amazon. I love purchasing my greenery or especially my Eucalyptus from Amazon. Michael’s has beautiful florals, and I prefer theirs more than any other store. Did I mention that I didn’t hot glue anything to the wire/wooden ball hoop? I think I’m most excited about that. Because I can now interchange it for the seasons!!!
The Wooden Ball Hoop Wreath is so simple, but the florals & greenery make it pop. I can’t wait to decorate it for Fall & Christmas. Did I just say Christmas in a June post? haha!
I have a lot of craft supplies scattered, covered & smothered around our house. Having one wreath form & being able to interchange it sounds divine to me right now! See you guys, I am craving simple things, a simple (and easy mess) & a simple craft to make.
So I had one of the kids snap this pic so I could send it to a friend. Of course, I cropped my head off – because you know it was a no-makeup kind of day. And now that’s it’s on the post, I’m realizing you can see my tan peeling off. But I love how the wooden ball hoop wreath looks. It’s perfect for Summer! The best part – is I already have ideas for it for Fall & Christmas.
So what have you made this Summer? Is your creative mojo alive & well? I hope it is!!! I’m about to start organizing my kitchen cabinets next week – so if all goes well, I’ll share a b&a. Because I struggle when it comes to organizing. So you know, the before is going to be like my peeling legs. Gross & yucky. haha! But hopefully the after will be swoon worthy.
