You guys!!!! I’m rather proud of this Hello Fall DIY Chipboard Mantel! To be perfectly honest, I’m quite shocked that I actually created this, and was even able to make this post about it with everything that’s going on!
Y’all it’s a crazy time, we’re living in! In our house we are doing online learning. Just to be clear, God’s purpose in my life was not to be a parent of a student (actually 3 students!!!) who are doing online learning. It’s so hard, y’all! SO hard! Those who are doing the same, I know there’s many of you! I’m sure you feel the same way. There’s no peace or even bubble space in our home. It’s ALLLLLL school, all the questions, everything is spread out, and the fridge is open all the time! Ahhhhh!
But a miracle happened. I found about 10 minutes each day for a week to work on this project. Ha. Not really, but it sure felt like it took that long. For the background of this Hello Fall DIY Chipboard Mantel, I once again used the vinyl buffalo check placemats I found last year at Walmart. Because recycling projects are good & a big time saver, right? Last time I was in a Walmart, I saw that they still had these in stock! They’re $1.97 and I love how fun they make this sign!
I’ve used these vinyl placemats for backgrounds on one of my Fall printables from last year, and also this one from Christmas last year. I happen to love buffalo check, and it’s the perfect backdrop for Fall and Christmas decor.
My DIY chipboard is 6 inches tall. I wanted a big statement piece mixed in with mostly natural & real Fall decor. I created a “very rough” template for you all below, if you wanted to create the same look. Please know they were hand drawn with just your basic ruler. I used some old heavy card stock I had on hand & cut out the letters with my favorite pair of scissors. It’s a fun project to do while you’re watching Schitt’s Creek. Gosh, I love that show.
Below you’ll find the Hello Fall DIY Chipboard Mantel letters to download. Don’t forget these are just templates. You’ll have to use your own card/crafty type of paper to make your own letters.
